Principal's Message: the message that welcomes in the new year edition!

Students, Parents, Families, and Friends of KMS,

Today’s message offers a great opportunity for me to express gratitude, on behalf of the entire KMS staff, for those families that were able to make to last night’s Open House event. We designed this year’s Open House to allow families with students in multiple grade levels to meet teachers, to get a snapshot of our classrooms, and to offer some community outreach opportunities. Our joint efforts to continually monitor and adjust to meet the unique needs of our families is important, and with this comes an opportunity for you, our parent/student community, to provide feedback. Open and honest 2-way communication is very important to us. As such, we offer many opportunities for this, ranging from our regularly scheduled Coffee with Admin (CLICK ME) events to the School Advisory Committee  (CLICK ME). Recognizing that not all families are available during these day-time events, Ms. D’Angelo and I are both available via phone, email, or in person. We are excited to have you as a partner in the growth and development of your student, thank you for entrusting us with your pride and joy!

Lunch: DoDEA Lunches are contracted to and managed through AAFES.

  • As a parent, you will find that maintaining an active online account for lunch payments is a time saver and is a great way to monitor what your student is spending/eating. (CLICK ME) for details.
  • Beginning this week AAFES will begin using numeric PIN numbers for kids to enter as they come through the lunch line. Students will be provided a copy of this number, and it is available to parents through the online account referenced above. As students become fluent in using these PIN numbers, the lunch line will move more quickly, parents will be able to have better tracking of expenses, and it will offer greater security for accounts. We ask that parents assist to ensure that PIN numbers are memorized and that our kids are not sharing them with anyone.
