Today’s message, in addition to some important date reminders, includes an abundance of praise!

April is Month of the Military Child, which is our opportunity to honor the incredible poise resilience, and kindness exhibited of military connected students . Truly, not a day goes by that I am not supremely impressed by our kids. Thanks for sending us the best! We have a variety of events going on throughout the month, with the first being this Friday, April 5th. Join our community from 0800-0820 to “clap-in”, give high fives, and acknowledge our students as they start the day.

Have you met Bella Flowers? I received word last week from the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NSSP) that the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) has awarded Bella the NJHS Outstanding Achievement Award. This distinction comes with award money to be used for her post-high school ventures. This award is a huge deal. In fact, Bella is the first student I have ever had to receive the award. On behalf of the NJHS Sponsor, Ms. Harris-Boring and the entire staff of KMS, we would like to extend our acknowledgement of a job well done. Bella, you ROCK!

Friday, April 5, 1030, at KMS: we have a special announcement/visitor on campus. If you are in the neighborhood, swing by and see what all the excitement is about.

April 16, in the 0900 hour, AFN Radio: Some say I have a face for radio, and a voice for print…. I will be joined by a special guest on AFN, tune in.

More Shout Outs:

  • April 1-5, National Assistant Principal’s Week: We are blessed with the best! Let’s give it up for the Amazing Ms. D’Angelo!
  • April 3rd, National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day: Huge thanks for Ms. Miller, Ms. Franz, Ms. Hayes, Ms. Horton, Ms. Schachle, and Ms. Reyes-Lopez for their tireless work in supporting the KMS Special Education team.
  • April 4th, School Librarian Appreciation Day: Our students have access to a wonderful Information Center chock full of diverse materials, digital resources, and so much more. Let’s give it up for Ms. Kerstetter and her dedication to our entire school!

On the Horizon:

  • Friday, April 5: PTSA Sponsored popcorn sales during lunch: $1 a bag.
  • April 15-19: All students: Summative Assessment Week.
