Students, parents, families, and friends of KMS, let’s dance!

February 15, 4:30-6:30, A Knight in Hollywood Dance (A Knight in Hollywood flyer), Sponsored by the KMS Student Council:

  • This event will be open to KMS students, only. We will relax our normal school dress code for this dance, which allows for dresses with spaghetti straps and so forth. I have communicated to the students that all I ask is that they remain modest, that what they wear doesn’t impede their ability to have fun on the dance floor, and that the things that should be covered, are covered. I recognize that this is vague, but I trust our parents/families to help monitor what their student is wearing for the dance. If there are any question, have your student talk with me.
  • We have coordinated a secure way for students to check-in phones as they come into the dance. Tonight is a great opportunity to step away from a screen, enjoy some time talking, interacting, dancing and having digital free fun with friends.

Want to hear something cool? Over the past several weeks we have been communicating to you about a great opportunity coming for our students on March 20th. Through partnership with the 86th AS, our students will get to get a behind the scenes experience to explore career fields focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Fly Like a Girl is an event focused on the many contributions that women have given and give every day in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) related fields. What a great opportunity to honor Women’s History Month. We are excited to share that the amazing organizers with the 86th AS have opened this event for all students at KMS! That’s right, mark your calendars for March 20th. Your KMS Knights are hittin’ the road for a fun filled day on the flight line at RAB. Many more details to come, including information for parents to support as a chaperone.

Check it out! Our friends over at the Mu Psi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. have a great opportunity for students aged 11-13. This is exciting! View Interest Meeting for YLI flyer to find some details about the Youth Leadership Institute.
