Good afternoon KMS students, parents, families, and friends,

Did you know that Kaiserslautern Middle School first opened its doors to students in 1953? WOW, we are 70 years old this school year! In honor of this amazing milestone, the KMS Student Council is celebrating with a “Party Like it’s 1953" Dance on October 19th.  A Save the Date flyer is attached, and we’ll send more details soon.

We have tons of opportunities at KMS for students to get involved here at school, and this includes after-school activities. Our official KMS website (https://kaiserslauternms.dodea.edu/school-activities) has a link providing a listing of clubs, contact information, meeting details, and much more. Navigate on over and check out the details. As FYI: the club’s name will contain a link for contact information.

Speaking of the official KMS website (https://kaiserslauternms.dodea.edu/), DoDEA has a new website platform that you will find to be much easier to navigate than in year’s past. In the coming weeks we will be leveraging this as an avenue to disseminate information. So, now is a great time to check out the homepage to find information related to upcoming events and we will be adding more important dates in the coming week.

Some dates to take note of:

  • Oct. 6: No School for Students
  • Oct. 9: No School
  • Oct. 19: Last day of Quarter 1
  • Oct. 20: No School for Students
  • Oct. 20 & 21: PTSA Halloween Events: See attached for details

Future Dates for awareness:

  • November 3: Parent Teacher Conferences, there will be no school
  • November 7: in coordination with USAG Rheinland-Pflaz School Liaison Office, KHS is hosting a College Night for any DOD ID card holders. This is a great event, see calendar for more details!

Make it a great week,

 Jason
