Happy Wednesday, Team KMS. 

It’s November, and here in a few short weeks we’ll be joining our nation as we celebrate Thanksgiving. In preparation of the day of thanks, I am kicking off part 1 of my 4 weeks of thanks. So, over the next 4 weeks I am taking the opportunity to pause, reflect, recognize, and communicate with others the many things I am thankful for. I hope you will consider joining me, it truly is a great way to create positive connections with others. 

Monday, November 11^th is a day of significance as we pause to celebrate American’s veterans. It is not lost on me the incredible sacrifice that has been and is being made by those who have given so much for our nation. So, with this I want to express my thanks to not only our current families who have or are serving in our armed forces, but any person who has been or is a current service member. Today I give thanks to you, I appreciate the sacrifice that you have made. 

This month’s Key of Excellence is, Speak with Good Purpose. I love this one, as it is a great reminder that our words carry a lot of power. It is true, the words we say can lift or tear down others. Let’s join together to model and practice communicating with intention, to practice honesty, kindness, generosity, and compassion at all times. I am convinced that our journey together to build a positive learning culture at KMS is grounded in a commitment to positive communication.

• Flu shot due date, Dec 1: please send copy of shot records to KMS front office or to the school nurse. 
• Your KMS PTSA is filled with a team of dedicated volunteers committed to supporting our students. Their behind-the-scenes work has a positive impact in our classrooms, and their community forward work is seen on a regular basis through Pop Pop Days (AKA, popcorn & popsicle sales). The next date for Pop Pop is November 15.
