Principal's Message: Susan Harris-Boring

Happy Wednesday, KMS students, parents, families, and friends,

We are approaching the mid-point of October and are just 9 school days away from the end of the 1st quarter. With this comes a lot of activities for our students, days off from school, and many opportunities for families to engage in valuable partnerships. In this edition of the KMS Bi-Weekly Newsletter, you will find important information for our students. Please take a moment to review it, where you’ll find details about:

  • No-School Days: Oct 11, 14, and 25
  • Halloween Dance: Oct 24 (Open to KMS students only)
  • School Clubs: (2 new clubs added)
  • PTSA Spirit Wear, Popcorn/Popsicle Sales, and Membership News
  • Community Events: College Night, Tailgate & Parade, Teen Summit
  • Other important dates and information

Also, take a few minutes to check out the DoDEA story highlighting the assembly where we honored Ms. Harris-Boring, DoDEA 2025 Teacher of the Year. It's an excellent story and includes a short, engaging video from the assembly.

Have a fantastic end to your week, and we’ll connect again next week!

A circular badge with a white edge and the text "National School Public Relations Association". The inner circle has a blue background with the text "Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award". The bottom of the badge has a ribbon with the year 2025 in the middle of it, and just below this ribbon it has the text "Award of Merit Website".

We’re excited to share that DoDEA has won the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award – Website Award of Merit for our School Newsletters Project! This NSPRA award honors outstanding school communication efforts that help connect schools with their communities. This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing school webmasters. Thank you for keeping families connected with your hard work and heart!
