Students, parents, families, and friends of KMS, 

I would like to kick off this week’s message with a shout out to the KMS Girl Scout Cadette Troup 55593 for their recent project, which is part of the Girl Scout Breathe Journey – “It’s Your Planet – Love It!”. Troop 55593 identified a need, designed, planed, and delivered a great service for the KMS campus. On our school grounds were 6 large concrete planters that were quite the eye sore, but not any longer. These planters are now filled with fresh plants and are painted in our school colors adding a pop of color to the campus. On behalf of the school community, I extend a huge thanks to cadette’s and leaders of Troop 55593.

I would be remiss if I didn’t offer up some praise for former KMS student, Travis Magyar. Travis is a Life Scout and the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader with the Kaiserslautern Boy Scout Troop 69. He recently completed his Eagle Scout project and through his amazing planning, he developed and delivered an amazing project for KMS. For anyone who has spent more than a couple of minutes in a school, the lost and found area can be an absolute disaster of water bottles, jackets, lunch boxes, and shoes. Travis, through his amazing leadership provided our campus 2 Lost and Found cabinets with one being in building 1032 and the other in building 1178. Each can be seen outside of the respective gyms. I have seen some amazing projects in my years, and I think this one may just be my favorite. If you have the pleasure of meeting Travis or his family, pass along a note of gratitude for a job well done!

• May 16th at 3:30pm in the KMS Library, Bldg 1178 PTSA General Membership Meeting. This is your opportunity to VOTE on your 2024-2025 KMS PTSA Board, find out what is going on through the end of the year, as well as purchase discounted SPIRIT WEAR!!! Some “retro” items will be as low as $5!

• End of year awards ceremonies, 8^th grade send-off, and grade level celebrations.
