Principal's Message: Details for start of SY 25-26 edition

Vol. 1
August 6, 2025

Students, parents, families, and friends of KMS, happy Wednesday! The first day of school is just around the corner, and your KMS faculty and staff are excited to open the doors for what will prove to be a great start to the 2025-26 school year. For our new to KMS families, welcome to the community! For our returning families, welcome back!

This week is Vol. 1 of the KMS Principal's Message, and it is the first of many that you will be receiving this school year. Some messages are long (like this one) and some are brief. Nonetheless, each Wednesday of the school year this communication will be sent to student Gmail accounts and to the email addresses provided during registration for parents/guardians. We are excited to continue our regular Between-2-Knights (B2K) Podcasts, and we have plans in the works to bring in engaging and relevant topics for our community. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to engage with the school admin team through monthly "Coffee with Admin" events, and so much more. Positive partnerships and clear and timely communication go hand in hand. As a reminder, each Principal's Message, important dates, B2K Podcasts, etc. can be viewed on the Official KMS Website. I highly encourage each student, parent, and family member to bookmark the KMS website.

What's not new at KMS?

Ms. D'Angelo (Assistant Principal Extraordinaire) and I are continuing our focus on honoring kindness and generosity. It is a theme that you will hear and see throughout the year. You will also hear and see us work towards fulfilling 3 simple commitments.

  1. We commit to compassionate leadership
  2. We commit to positive partnerships
  3. We commit to clear and timely communication

At KMS, we believe that compassionpositive partnerships and clear, timely communication are key to a thriving school community. We’re excited to continue this journey with you!

What's new at KMS?

During the first week back to school, Ms. D'Angelo and I will be meeting with each grade level. We will utilize this valuable time to put forth a positive message grounded in Kindness and Generosity. We believe that clarity is kindness, so we will be providing students with a clear set of expectations for behavior, which students and parents will sign. This is a valuable step towards building a positive partnership with our families, and it provides a clear set of structures that support positive behaviors at school.

See you soon!

Jason James, KMS Principal
